KEY DATES AND INFORMATION FOR ASSOCIATION AND REGIONAL EVENTS FOR SEASON 2017/2018

NOTE:
– Athletes must be in full centre uniform with this years age group and registration badges.
– Event Programs, Maps, Parent Allocation Rosters, Rules and Entry Forms (as applicable) will be posted once available.
– Association meets held at SA Athletics Stadium are subject to SALAA’s All Weather Policy and Extreme Weather Policy.

SATURDAY 4 NOVEMBER – NORTHERN METRO REGIONAL DAY
GOLDEN GROVE LAC, TILLEY RESERVE – Arrive by 9.10am for warm up and announcement. Events commence from 9.30, check the program for your age group’s event times.
Open to all registered athletes, Tiny Tots to U17 with a set program competing against athletes from the other Northern Metro centres, Barossa Valley, Gawler, Ingle Farm, Lyndoch & Districts, Munno Para, Northern Districts, Playford, Salisbury and Tea Tree Gully.
GGLAC will be responsible for an event/events, we will post details once known and seek parent helpers to ensure the smooth running of the event.

SUNDAY 19 NOVEMBERADELAIDE BRIGHTON CEMENT STATE CARNIVAL (TT-U8) and (U9-U12)

Tiny Tots – Under 8: The Tiny Tots will participate in a Tiny Tots session, while each of the U6-U8 age groups will participate in a set rotation of events, where the athletes will receive coaching and have their performance recorded.
Under 9 – Under 12: Most standard events will be offered for each age group throughout the day, with each athlete able to nominate a maximum of 5 events.
Entry Fee: $10. Nominations close 2 November

SATURDAY 16 AND SUNDAY 17 DECEMBERSTATE PB CLASSIC

The SA State Classic (PB Day) is an opportunity for all athletes to compete at SA Athletics Stadium in their favourite track and field events. The event will be using a structured program this year, with events scheduled for each age group. Athletes can choose up to 5 events to compete in and there will be NO restriction on track/field, as in previous years.
Entry fee is $10 per athlete. Nominations close 30 November.

SATURDAY 20 AND SUNDAY 21 JANUARYTOYOTA STATE MULTI EVENT CHAMPIONSHIP

Little Athletics SA and Athletics SA are pleased to announce that the 2017 State Multi Event Championships will once again be a combined event. The U9 to U13 age groups will participate in a pentathlon event, with the U9 and U11 athletes competing on the Saturday, and the U12 and U13 athletes competing on the Sunday. The U14 to U17 athletes will compete in Hex-/Hept-athlons (depending on age) with events conducted over both days, along with the ASA Open Heptathlon and Decathlons. The Masters pentathlons will be conducted on a single day (to be determined).
Athletes accrue points based on their performances in the individual events, with medals presented to the three highest point scorers in each age group.
Qualifying Standards apply to the U9-U13 athletes and can be found on the SALAA website.
Entry fee is $15 per athlete. Nominations close 4 January.

SATURDAY 3 FEBRUARY – NORTHERN REGION OPEN DAY
SALISBURY LAC, CREASER PARK, LAVENDER DRIVE, PARAFIELD GARDENS

Open to all athletes, Tiny Tots to U17 competing against athletes from the other Northern Region centres, Barossa, Elizabeth, Gawler, Ingle Farm, Lyndoch, Munno Para, Salisbury, Salisbury East and Tea Tree Gully. Choose your own events up to the maximum applicable to your age group as per the event program.

SATURDAY 3 MARCH – NORTHERN IMPROVERS DAY
NORTHERN DISTRICTS AC, RUNDLE RESERVE, RUNDLE ROAD, SALISBURY SOUTH

Open to Tiny Tots and all age groups. Competing against athletes from the other Northern Region centres in a maximum of 4 events (2 track/2 field).
For athletes U9 to U13, participation can only be in events that you have not qualified for in the State Individual Championships.
U14-U17 athletes can participate in up to 4 events they are not competing in at the State Individual Championships.

Entry Fee: TT and U6 to U8 $10, U9 to U17 $13. Nominations close 10 February.

SUNDAY 18 MARCHSTATE CHALLENGE (U9-U13)

The State Challenge provides an opportunity for athletes, who are not participating in the State Individual Championships in three or more events, with a chance to compete. Finals will not be conducted for this event and medals will be provided for each age group based on heat times. Heats will be drawn based on PBs of nominated entries and Field events will be best of three attempts (no final 8).

Entry fee is $10 per event/capped at $30 per athlete. Nominations close 19 February.

FRIDAY 23 MARCH, SATURDAY 24 MARCH AND SUNDAY 25 MARCH
STATE INDIVIDUAL CHAMPIONSHIPS

The State Individual Championships is the pinnacle event for many athletes. Athletes strive throughout the season to qualify to compete at these Championships. All individual events are held for each age group, with the top three achievers awarded medals.with the top three achievers awarded medals.
