2019/2020 STATE RELAY CHAMPIONSHIPS
SUNDAY 15 DECEMBER AT SA ATHLETICS STADIUM
This season’s State Relay Championships were again a success for GGLAC with our teams winning 4 Gold, 5 Silver, and 3 Bronze medals. Three new Centre Best Performances were set and many of our field athletes achieved new Personal Bests in their event. Congratulations everyone.
We need to acknowledge the massive effort of Ian, Grahame and Jodie for putting the teams together, following up parents and finding late substitutions to make sure we had as many teams and athletes competing as possible. We had over 70 athletes competing in 36 teams.
Thanks also needs to go to our coaches Grahame, Paul, Andy, Bec and Paul for holding training sessions and then on the day motivating, warming up the athletes and marshalling them on time. We cannot thank you enough.
The positive and encouraging efforts of our families also needs to also be acknowledged, it definitely helped the athletes with their nerves and their confidence.
Finally, thanks to all our athletes that competed, no matter what your result, remember you tried your best, did the Club proud and we hope you all enjoyed the experience.
GGLAC placed 5th on the Pam Sard Champion Centre Table with 102 points. We also won first place in the March Past Best Presented Centre with the Superheroes of GGLAC. Big thanks to Abbie, Emily and Jodie for organising all the capes, masks and banner. Well done to all the athletes, parents, siblings, committee members and coaches who dressed up and participated in the march on the day.
