TINY TOTS

Children aged 3–5 years can register and participate in our Tiny Tots program. The program focuses on fun, participation, and the development of basic motor skills through a variety of simple games and activities. The emphasis is on learning and enjoyment rather than competition, helping young children build confidence, coordination, and social skills in a supportive environment.

Activities may include running and jumping over rope ladders, mini hurdles, hoops, throwing and catching bean bags, and playing with the parachute. Tiny Tots athletes also have the opportunity to participate in introductory athletics events such as long jump, the 50m sprint, and the 100m run. Further information on the Tiny Tots Centre Program can be accessed here.

Tiny Tots sessions are conducted at all Home Meets, generally on Saturdays from 9:00am, as well as selected Twilight Meets commencing from 6:00pm. Sessions run for approximately one hour. Tiny Tots athletes may also participate in Regional and Association Meets, including events such as the SA State Classic held at the SA Athletics Stadium, Mile End. Please check the Program page and Facebook and Instagram for updated information.

At least one parent or guardian is required to remain with their child throughout each Tiny Tots session. In accordance with the SALAA Constitution, children who register in Tiny Tots must remain in the program for the full season, even if they turn five during that time. All Tiny Tots who attend regularly throughout the season will receive a participation trophy and certificate at the end-of-year presentations.
