SunSmart Policy
The health of members and supporters is of primary concern to the South Australian Little Athletics Association Inc.
Our Association acknowledges that skin cancer is a major public health problem in Australia, with two out of every three people requiring treatment for some form of skin cancer in their lifetime.
We recognise that skin cancer is preventable and we will actively seek to promote, encourage and support sun protection at meetings, training and competitions (local, regional, state and national).

Smoke Free Policy
The South Australian Little Athletics Association Inc. and Affiliated Centres and Clubs recognise that passive smoking is hazardous to health and that non-smokers should be protected from the involuntary inhalation of tobacco smoke.
The Association and Affiliates also recognise that our Mission Statement is to: “DEVELOP CHILDREN OF ALL ABILITIES BY PROMOTING POSITIVE ATTITUDES AND A HEALTHY LIFESTYLE THROUGH FAMILY AND COMMUNITY INVOLVEMENT IN ATHLETIC ACTIVITIES”.

Asthma Aware
Over 300,000 South Australians have asthma, affecting 1 in 4 children, in 1 in 7 teenagers and 1 in 10 adults. It is estimated that up to 80 % of these will experience symptoms during physical activity. Community education and correct management will assist to minimize the impact of asthma.
Little Athletics Centres can play a key role in providing a safe and supportive environment for members and visitors with asthma. With this in mind, SA Little Athletics recognises the need to educate its members, coaches, trainers, staff and volunteers about Asthma triggers and to promote responsible asthma management strategies.

Personal Protection & Intervention Policy
The South Australian Little Athletics Association Inc. is strong in its commitment to a coordinated and comprehensive approach to promote the protection of children and adults. In accordance with the South Australian State Government principals for child protection and intervention, the South Australian Little Athletics Association Inc. aims to promote a safe environment for all children and adults and to recognise and notify suspected child abuse and neglect.

Equity and Access Guidelines
The South Australian Little Athletics Association Incorporated Access and Equity Guidelines are based on the inclusion of young people 3 years to 17 years with disabilities into Little Athletics.
