Congratulations to all the athletes that competed at the State Relay Championships no matter what your result, remember you did your best and the club proud. GGLAC medaled in 10 events, coming away with 1 gold, 7 silver, 1 bronze as well as setting 3 new centre best performances.

We need to acknowledge to massive effort of Andy, Grahame, Paul, Vanessa and Abbie for putting the teams together, following up parents and finding late substitutions to make sure we had as many teams and athletes competing as possible. We had over 85 athletes competing in 40 teams.

Thanks need to go to our coaches Andy, Grahame, Paul, Lara, Abbie, Maddie, Bec & Terry for holding training sessions and then on the day motivating, warming up the athletes and marshalling them on time. We can not thank you enough.

The positive and encouraging efforts of our parents needs to also be acknowledged, without your commitment there is no event. Thanks also to all those who completed their parent allocations and an even bigger thanks to all those who ‘jumped the fence’ to help out when needed.

Finally, thanks to Ian and Jodie for officiating on the day, Emily for keeping track of all the teams and qualifications and James and Georgie for COVID marshal duties.

GGLAC placed 4th on the Pam Sard Champion Centre Table with 112 points. We also received a 1st in the march past for best presented centre. Huge thanks to Holly, Abbie, Paul and Gemma for their organisation of our Where’s wally theme.
